Demon Copperhead

Demon Copperhead by: Barbara Kingsolver. Christ on a cracker, this book. I mean, where to begin. First of all, I will not let any person in my reading life leave a conversation without telling them about this book. This book is one of the ages. I genuinely do not feel qualified to review this book, that’s how good it is. Since this is my blog and I have zero idea if anyone will read it, I'm going to go on ahead and just try to put words to the beauty that is Demon Copperhead. First off, I’ll warn you, it’s rough. It’s sad, and it takes it’s time at it. There are 64 chapters to this book, but hear me out, they go fast. I had a book hangover for a week when I finished this one. It’s a coming of age tale about a boy named Damon, set in Appalachia touching on child neglect, child abuse, drugs and death. Take it to your next family reunion. Kidding. All I will say is “please read this book, you will not regret it.”
