The great alone

I’m a big fan of Kristin Hannah, I think she writes beautifully. I loved The Nightingale so much, I read it in a couple of days. The Great Alone is no different, it’s a beautifully written novel. When I tell you I ugly cried for a solid 20 minutes towards the end of the book, I am not exaggerating. It’s a book about a girl named Leni, whose wayward father moves the family to Alaska. The author does an amazing job at bringing you into the book, drawing vivid pictures of scenes. She makes you fall in love with some of the characters and dislike others. The book depicts alcohol abuse as well as domestic abuse, if you prefer trigger warnings. I could not put this book down. It’s definitely worth every second you will spend reading it.
